Slaves must not be allowed to leave the plantations.

    Explanation:

Nat Turner was a slave who became the leader of a violent slave rebellion in Virginia, in 1831. He was originally a preacher who believed himself to be able to receive messages from God. Inspired by these divine messages, Turner led a rebellion against white slave owners. The rebellion led to harsher laws against slaves, particularly when it came to restricting their movements.

    D) Slaves must not be allowed to leave plantations. I don't believe many, if any at all, Southerners taught their slaves Christianity. I think some slave owners actually treated their slaves worse after Nat Turner. And most of those slaves were fairly illiterate to begin with.
