Geography of the United Kingdom boosted the necessity of exploring new lands an trading with other kingdoms.

    Explanation:

When a kingdom is based on a island, no matter how big it may be, eventually resourses are not going to be enough for all the population. Either raw materials or technology, living on an island will force their inhabitants to travel and explore new lands for trading and conquering. This is one of the reasons why United Kingdom conquered North France during middle age and why they were so interested in trading with Asian countries while expanding the British Empire in India, Australia, Africa, Middle East and North America. All this rush for trade and conquest would no be the same if the geography of the United Kindom were more abundant in resourses and paths to other lands.
