Southwest Asia face great difficult in farming mostly because of climate and soil conditions.

The Southwest Asia is extremely arid and will receive less than 18 inches of precipitation a year, while countries as Brazil in the region of Amazon rainforest will receive 80 to 120 inches of annual precipitation.

The Southwest land is also covered with sand dunes or salt flats. These regions are very dry and make irrigation very hard. Because of this characteristics rivers will not flow the entire year, requiring then the use of other methods for irrigation in farming.
