Muller v. Oregon upheld the Constitutionality of a state to restrict the hours for women within a state.

This was a victory at the time because it upheld the rights of women to work but to not be exploited by their employers. It also supported the idea that women were important to fulfilling a role as a mother and wife.

The decision however hurt women as time went on and the push for an Equal Rights amendment became a priority. With court cases stating it was Constitutional to create separate laws for men and women in the workplace, it meant women had to overturn those cases to prove equality in the workplace. It could be justify discrimination in work that women had to fight in later decades.
