How was Supreme Court case "Dred Scott v. Sanford" monumental for the time in the United States? What lasting impact did this decision have on the nation throughout the 1800s?

    Dred Scott, there is hard to summarize everything about that not so known case! Main idea is that Dred, a sclave fought for his freedom in court, leading to the worst decision ever rendered by the Supreme Court (ever). The subject at that time "freedom for slaves" was not popular so nobody wanted to promote such ideas, like Dred's case for example. Subsequently this kind of issues led to the civil war therefore you can see the huge impact such a case had! For human right history and american history, changes that reverberated even in todays society!
