The correct answer is C) American Religious practices were often banned and American Indians were often forcibly converted to Christianity.

The sentence that best describes the history of American Indian religions of the United States.

When the first people arrived to America they found that the Native tribes are already settled there used to have very firm religious beliefs and traditions. The first missionaries thought that they would encounter ignorant people ready to be evangelized and that was not the case. The tribes were organized, had family values and religious ceremonies, basically honoring Mother Earth. That is the reason why these Native American tribes were difficult to change their minds when missionaries tried to spread Christianity. So American Religious practices were often banned and American Indians were often forcibly converted to Christianity.
