Describe the difference between a criminal case and a civil case and provide an example of each.

A criminal case happens when the government files a case in court to punish someone (the defendant) for committing a crime ... A civil case happens when one person, business, or agency sues another one because of a dispute between them, usually involving money.

A criminal case would represent the judgement/trial and sentancing of someone who has been criminally charged. Ex) Someone being tried for murder or drug possesion.

A civil case is when there are disputes between land codes, or a civil lawsuit when two people are unhappy with each other for disorderly conduct in an apartment or something similar.

Ex) my next door neighbor is playing loud music at all hours of the night and refuses to stop. There could be a disturbing the peace or unruly conduct charge.
