The constitution of the Confederate States of America closely resembled the U. S. Constitution. How was the Confederate constitution different?

    These are the reasons they broke away from the Union on the first place and eventually fought for in the Civil War. The rest of the Constitution is basically the same as the United States constitution, resembling almost word by word.
