In what ways was the Great Awakening similar to the Enilightenment

The great awakening was a religious and spiritual movrment, however the enlightenment is about scientific spirit and reasoning ... there are many who feel that it was a reaction to the thinking that developed as a result of Enlightenment and an attempt to turn people's attention back to church and god.
