In the mid-nineteenth century, Europeans were influencing their claim to the Chinese market. Before that Chinese were earning good in the form of bullion for their trade from the European market. But it soon created the problem of silver at home and this led to several conflicts between them such as Opium war in which opium was replacing bullion for trade in china. This led to a heavy loss to the Chinese economy.
