The government may enact Martial law and suspend the buying of firearms.

Explanation:

The buying of firearms in the Us can cause a lot of civic problems in testing times like these where the chances of conflict during the lock down have become much much higher than any other time.

Thus, it is crucial that the decorum of the time is maintained and if the government needs to implement the martial law to ensure that then they are well within their rights to do so.

Firearms should also not be sold at the time for any reason whatsoever.
