Why were democratic leaders expressing so much concern as Franklin Roosevelt ran for a fourth term in office?

He had become too liberal for the party platform.

Roosevelt's health was becoming a big problem.

He was becoming much too powerful as a leader.

    It was feared after the third and fourth presidential election of Franklin D Roosevelt the presidency would become a monarchy. Franklin Roosevelt was the only president elected to more than two terms
