    The major compromises include the3/5 compromise whereby slaves were counted as 3/5, this number would also be used to formulate the number of taxes each state would be subjected to.

    The Commerce and slave trade compromise which denied Congress the power to tax exports or act on the slave trade for 20 years. It was aimed at protecting slave holders from interference
