League of nation came into being at the end of world war in 1919 and the United nations came into existence at the end of world war two. There were only 63 members in League of nations while UN has 192 members. The League of nation was unsuccessful in preventing the war and is considered to be a failure While the United Nations have prevented the war and also works as a peacekeeping agency in twenty first century. United states was not the part of league of nations which made the league of nations less powerful.
