What does geography have to do with history

Geography is the study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by these, including the distribution of populations and resources, land use, and industries. This is the reason it falls in this category.

Geography and history are alike because, for example Chrisopher columbus sailed the Pacific ocean and if Geography and history wernt alike we would just say that he sailed an ocean and that all those islands he visited were just there for show, but because geography and history collide we are able to know where he went and what path he took to get there
