The Neolithic people were predominantly building their villages in fertile valleys through which a river was running.

The motivation for the settlement in this parts was the discovery that some wild plants can be farmed for having a more stable food source, and the places that were the most suitable for farming them were the valleys that had fertile soil because of the large rivers that were running through them.
