What issues were of particular concern to religious fundamentalists in years of Great Depression and why?

    -evangelical Protestants feel threatened by mainstream Protestants/Catholics/Jews

    - supported prohibition which greatly reduced alcohol consumption during the 1920s

    - fought the teaching of evolution in private & public schools

    Religious fundamentalists believe that all individuals should be subjected to the authority of the teachings that written in their religious scripture.

    During the great depression, there were a lot of immigrants from Europe came into united states. They brought along new knowledge and traditions and assimilate this to united states. This situation threaten the structure that the religious fundamentalists try to maintain.
