    The correct answer is widespread boycotts of British goods

    The Townshend Act took effect in America in November 1767 and colonist had to pay duties on glass, paper, lead, paint, and tea that were imported from Britain. Because of that, a movement started to boycott British goods and this way force Britain to repeal the duties, this movement was called non-importation non-consumption movements.
