Hitler conducted Air raids on military bases, especially the Royal Air Force (RAF) bases. This would allow Hitler to gain Air and Sea superiority over the English Channel, letting him launch his blitzkrieg and taking over Britain easily. However, after Churchill ordered a bombing on Berlin, Hitler changed his target from military bases to London civilians targets. Even though tens of thousands were killed in London, this allowed the RAF to rebuild itself and regain Air superiority over the English Channel.
