    A) Rock wasn't really in decline, it was in a flux of change. Doo Wop, Folk, RnB and Soul were developing from all different parts of the country into the form we have today.

    Elvis being drafted was just the doorway for other forms of music to shape rock, which was born of Blues, Ragtime and Gospel.
