    The Spanish Civil War was between the Republicans and the Nationalists. The coup, supported by the military units, left Spain militarily and politically split. The Nationalists was supported by the Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy with soldiers, ammunition etc. The Republicans was backed by the Communist Soviet Union and leftist Mexico. The War lasted from 1936 to 1939.
