How did the nazis use the concentration camp system throughout world war ll

They used them to gather as many Jews as they could find and keep them there either by having them doing work or killing them off over time they would normally kill off the elderly and children first and then keep young adult or anyone who looked strong enough to work until they considered them to be useless then they would kill them to as apart of the extermination act of all Jews
