He managed to set the founding ground for the Mughal (Mogul) Empire, and was very influential in spreading the Islam in parts of India. Babur originated from the Central Asian steps, and he had a mixed Turko-Mogol origin, by being connected by blood with Genghis Khan, through Chagatai Khan, and with Timur. It was an empire that lasted for few centuries, and had a very big impact on the Indian society, culture, architecture, literature.
