    The battle of Midway was significant in the World War II as it marked the end of Japanese hegemony in the Pacific. The japanese wanted to destroy the american carriers but american codebreakers anticipated these plans with the contrary disastrous result for Japan of loosing themselves 4 carriers plus many ships and men after the 4 days battle.
