    This deal shows that, if the Democrats accepts Republican Party candidate, Rutherford Hayes, to become the next president, then, the Republicans would withdraw federal troops from the South.

    It would enable the Democrats to regain political power in the southern state governments. This deal was succesfully implemented leading to Rutherford Hayes becoming the President.
