    The Kansas-Nebraska Act was passed by the United States government on the 30th of May 1854. For many pro-slavery leaders, it was seen as a win and was set to repeal the earlier Missouri Comparison which was signed in 1820.

    Unfortunately, the Act created more problems than solutions. Kansas itself soon erupted, with wide scale violence taking place between both pro and anti slavery mobs. The situation became bad enough for the Federal government to step in and send forces to bring peace.
