The US government, during the Obama adminstration, boosted the aggregate demand through a stimilus package that included tax cuts, job creation and more public spending in welfare, aducation and health. The package, which was included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, was succesful in reactivating the economy after the Great Recession of 2008-2009 which followed the financial crisis of the former year. In 2010, economic activity raised again and unemployment rate fell.
