    The Mycenaeans were a civilization from the Bronze Age. They lived in what is now mainland Greece from about 1600 to 1100 BCE. It is considered the first advanced civilization of mainland Greece. The Minoans were also a Bronze Age civilization. However, they lived in the island of Crete and other Aegean islands. They inhabited the area from c. 2700 to c. 1450 BCE. They preceded the Mycenaean civilization.
