    Major General Nathaniel P. Banks was the commander of the troops of U. S who fought against the Confederate troops commanded by Lieutenant General Richard Taylor along the Red River.

    Explanation:

    In 1871 campaign, United States of america take military action in Korea. In 1872, an election campaign was started. In 1873 campaign, a conflict occurs between the Native American Modoc people and the U. S Army in northeastern California and southeastern Oregon regions.

    The main of objective of Red River campaign is to destroy the Confederate troops and to capture east Texas.
