Generally speaking, why were girls not as well-educated as boys early in America's history? Girls had no use for learning skills to be used in the workplace. Girls were expected to stay at home and learn domestic duties. There were not enough schools open devoted just to girls. Schools were not designed for the way girls learn subjects.

    The most suitable answer would be number 2.

    It is not related with the intelligence or the abilities women had. In fact, it has to do with the society ideals of that time. Women were supposed to be in charge of the domestic issues. They got married young and they cared about the children and the house duties. Women did not have as many opportunities to study as men in the early American history.
