    1) Treaties are way for nations to get together and agree on (or compromise) on a common goal. This fosters goodwill, and reduces the chances of conflict

    Cons

    2) Treaties are often unfair, and many have heavily favored one side over another. Many have also been ignored, broken, or completely rejected, and have caused more conflicts than they have resolved.
