How did collectives in the soviet union avoid the competition that drives a free market economy? it was illegal to buy products from a competitor. heavy industry was not a direct competitor. the farmers were not able to sell their own products. the government determined prices, wages, and products?

The highest planning body was the Ministry of Planning, known as Gosplan. In its process to determine the future development it received the directives of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Gosplan of the federated republics, elaborated the plan and approved it after submitting it to the Supreme Soviet.
