Great Britain and France pressured the provisional government to remain in the war.

    Explanation:

Eventhough it was a very unpopular decision by the Tzar government to participate and fight in WWI the provisional Government, which was left after the abdication of the Tzar Nicholas, was in charge of trying to call for a democatric election, but at the same time was pressured by the allies on France and Britain to continue with the battle on WWI, this decision would eventually weaken the power of the provissional government since 8 months later they'd lost the country to the Bolshevik revolution.

Most likely to show the rest of the world that they are still a powerful country so that they don't get invaded or underestimated. Also if they were to win the war they would obtain a lot of valuable resources and status. Even continuing to fight in the war benefited them just as much as it ruined them.
