According to the passage from Federalist 78, James Madison clearly wanted the Supreme Court to be an independent body. How does having a life tenure in office make the Supreme Court an apolitical body?

    Because they don't have to be subservient or even wary of being fired each time they make a decision that might offend the President, or anyone else.
