A - the Americans should be independent from the British

    Explanation:

The expression common sense describes the beliefs or propositions that are nourished by society (family, clan, people, nation or entire humanity). Henri Bergson defines common sense as "the faculty to orient oneself in practical life" E. Mora-Anda says that common sense saves us nonsense: it calculates the probable and the improbable, the reasonable and the absurd. It does not follow rules but to what can work and is not a perfectionist, that this is neurotic, but prefers "reasonable", also analyzed by Lin Yutang in "The Importance of Living". For Trout and Rivkin, common sense is an essential faculty of the person: "a faculty that possesses the generality of people, to judge things reasonably". Yash, Hipat Roses and Imeld define it as "the gift provided to know how to distinguish everything that surrounds us: good, evil, reason and ignorance."

A is the answer because the idea behind Common Sense is that it would introduce the colonies to the idea of independence.
