    Because of their jobs the immigrants preferred living in the cities.

    Industrialization created many jobs and attracted many migrants for their better future, so the European migrants moved to live in cities. Cities during these times were the center of industries, hence the workers or the migrants wanted to stay nearby their jobs. Therefore, they preferred living in the cities.
