    The Britain' diplomatic mission that went to china was led by Macartney which was the first diplomatic mission to China in 1793. the main reason for the diplomatic Mission was to get the Chinese people to see the value in British products and also to trade with them.

    The Qing emperor refused their requests not because he didn't want to trade on foreign goods but because of an Agreement he has made a diplomatic alliance with the French already, to avoid conflicts of interest because of the Tension/disagreement always between Britain and France he decided to turn down the request
