    He was an activist, journalist, businessman and speaker in Jamaica. He was the leader and the first General Chairman of the African Community Association and Universal Negro Improvement Society, from which he became Africa's interim President. His views are politically a pan-Africanist black nationalist and were known as garveyism. A phenomenon that reacts to the predominant White culture and ideology, Black pride allows Black people to enjoy the Black culture and accept African ancestry. This was in the USA, in fact Movement for Civil Rights, a strong reaction to white racism.
