    An example of Japanese imperial rule that was evident when it placed restricitons on Korean rights was that it assumed control of newspapers and free speech, as well as famous squelching of its nationalist groups. Both of these acts were for example very notorious at the time. It is a question though, what will pop up as the correct answer on the test so I advise caution!
