Great Britain made about 2.5 to 3 million pounds in exports to South Saharan Africa in 1854, and about 20 to 21 million pounds in 1900. Thus, definitely 1900 was the year that Great Britain experienced the higher rate of growth of imports and exports. One event that explains this difference is the Europeans tooking over Africa in 1884-1914, in the event called The Scramble For Africa.
