    The workers demands for higher wages needed funding by the Manufactures, this in turn meant sharing of a greater percentage of profit with the workers.

    Safer workplaces meant improvement of structures and also purchase of safe clothing, and also catering for health of the workers. All this were very costly ventures for the Industries, that meant their companies being less profitable.
