    The Virginia Declaration of Rights was a document drafted in 1776 to proclaim the inherit rights of men, including the right to abolish a government.

    The English Bill of Rights of 1689 was an act of the Parliament of England that specified certain basic civil rights and clarified the question who would inherit the Crown.

    The Magna Carta of 1215 was a charter of rights agreed to by King John of England that promised the protection of many rights and made piece between the king and some rebellious barons.

    Some works of the Age of Enlightenment stating some natural rights were also used to base the American Bill of Rights.
