African Americans sought rebellion and took action to fight against slavery. Many states in the United States were slave states. There were many inspirational characters such as Harriet Tubman, Nat Turner, and Frederick Douglas. African Americans either physically attacked their owners (usually rare) Frederick Douglas for example. Slaves eventually tried to escape their white owners. Usually, slaves would purposely ruin the plantation that they were working on purpose. Eventually, Abraham Lincoln got the 16 amendment passed and slavery was ultimately abolished. A lot of disputes resulted over slavery, a common knowing one being the Civil War.
