Why were married women pressured to leave their jobs during the 1930s? to encourage a return to traditional values by getting women back to their traditional duties to discourage men from abandoning their families by ensuring they had a wife to come home to to free up jobs for men who had been laid off so that they could support their families to free up women so that they could contribute to charitable causes during the Depression
