    This was because he was largely responsible for the civil war and subsequent famine Somalia experienced.

    In 1993 America sent it troops to raid and end the war in the Somali capital Mogadishu. They intended doing it by capturing Gen Mohamed Farah Aidid.

    The UN put more resources towards taking down Mohamed Farah Aidid and offered a $25,000 reward for this.
