The creation of Federal conservation programs to rehabilitate the Dust Bowl was an example of government intervention to prevent migration from an era. There were measures like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the National Recovery Association and the Civilian Conservation Corps, which were associated with the New Deal. Franklin D Roosevelt believed that it was crucial to provide with direct federal relief to individuals instead of reforming the business community.

By creating these programs, the Federal government focused on rehabilitating the lands so they would not become uninhabitable, leading to farmers and whole communities to leave the land and looking fo opportunities elsewhere.
