Most important characteristic of the this colony was that it had good relations with the American Indians. Philadelphia was its important city. The colony was given as a land grant to the London company in 1606, Later William Penn received the colony as a payment of the debt which King Charles second owed to his father and expanded its territory by purchasing from the Indians by paying for it.
