The main principles embraced by Enlightenment revolution movement were liberty, equality, and fraternity. The September Massacre killed people that were in prison under the argument that these people could join forces with counter-revolutionaries. But the massacre was very unfair and killed around 1.400 people which its claimed that two thirds of them were innocent and had no intentions of going against the revolution and were unlucky in prison at the time because of thief, debs or other crimes. So the massacre was full of terror and violence rather than liberty, equality, and fraternity.
