How can the president check the actions of the legislative branch

    The Executive Branch has checks on the legislative branch in a myriad of ways.

    The most important of these is that the executive branch may choose to veto legislation passed by the Legislative branch.

    The legislative branch may, in turn, respond by overriding the veto with a 2/3rds vote.
