The Civil Rights Act of 1957 was the act passed by the Congress of United States with the purpose of providing more protection to the Civil Rights of people. The law was enacted under the Presidentship of Dwight D. Eisenhower, on 9th September 1957.

The act was passed to involve federals to ensure that the civil rights African Americans and other minorities were being protected.

This Act was mainly opposed by Democrats than Republicans in the Congress, approximately 100 votes from Democrats were in oppose to the bill. Majority of both the parties voted in favor of the Bill and all Senate Republicans were in favor of the Bill, so all of them voted in its favor.
